Overview:

This session is being held to provide an opportunity for the community to discuss the scope of the new GNSO Review of All Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) in All gTLDs Policy Development Process (PDP) and the ongoing independent review of the Trademark Clearinghouse.

Following the publication of the Final Issue Report on Reviewing All RPMs in All gTLDs, the GNSO Council recently voted to initiate a PDP on the topic. In advance of the launch of the PDP Working Group, which is expected shortly, the first part of this session is designed to allow interested parties an opportunity to discuss issues related to the PDP effort.

The second part of the session will focus on the independent review of the Trademark Clearinghouse. ICANN has commissioned this review based on a recommendation from the GAC. The TMCH independent review aims to assess processes pertaining to the Clearinghouse in conjunction with the specified areas for review proposed by the GAC. The vendor selected to conduct this review will present their methodology and invite feedback from TMCH users, including trademark holders and trademark agents, as well as other interested parties.
