Overview:
The GNSO Council had requested that an Issue Report on all rights protection mechanisms, including the longstanding Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy and the mechanisms developed for the New gTLD Program, be prepared 18 months following the delegation of the first gTLD in the New gTLD Program. The timeline for publication of this report was subsequently extended for a further 6 months. As the Preliminary Issue Report will have been published for public comment by ICANN54, this session will provide an opportunity for the community to discuss the recommendations in the report. The GNSO Council will vote on whether or not to initiate a Policy Development Process on the topic following the publication of a Final Issue Report that will take into account public comments received to the report
