ABOUT OUR HOST
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a Federal UAE Government entity established according to the UAE Federal Law by Decree No. 3 of 2003 – Telecom Law. TRA is responsible for the management of every aspect of the telecommunications and information technology industries in the UAE.
The organizational objectives of the TRA include: ensuring adequacy of telecommunications services throughout the UAE; achieving enhancement of services, both in terms of quality and variety; ensuring quality of service and adherence to terms of licenses by licensees; encouraging telecommunications and IT services within the UAE; promoting and enhancing the telecommunications sector within the UAE; resolving disputes between the licensed operators; establishing and implementing a regulatory and policy framework; promoting new technologies; ensuring that the UAE becomes the regional ICT hub; developing the country's human capital; and encouraging research and development.
The TRA is also the current ccTLD manager for .ae, the national name space in the UAE. Through the TRA, the UAE was one of the first countries in the world to launch its own IDN ccTLD, .امارات (dotEmarat) in 2010. The TRA represent the UAE government in various ICT-related international organizations, committees and forums such as ITU, ICANN GAC, APTLD, IGF, LAS, the GCC and many others. The TRA is an active GAC member within ICANN since 2005.

There are several ways to apply for a travel visa for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
- Apply online with the UAE Ministry of Interior
- Apply in-person or online through your local UAE Embassy or Consulate General
- Apply through Emirates or Etihad Airlines (Must arrive on either airline)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on VISA applications for the UAE
How long does it generally take to process a visa application?
3-5 working days for most applications, however some applications may take longer.
All Visas are valid for 60 days from date of issued. We recommend applying 30-45 days before your anticipated arrival into the UAE.
How long can I stay in the UAE with a visitor visa?
Allowable length of stay depends on the visa type and country of origin. Short term single entry tourist visas are valid for 30 days from entry into the UAE or a long term single entry tourist visa for 90 days is also available. Duration of stay includes entry/arrival and departure days.

Is my travel visa valid in all Emirates?
Yes, with a valid travel visa you can arrive at any airport including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Travel between Emirates is permitted no matter where your UAE tourist visa was issued.
Is it possible to renew or extend a tourist visa?
No, short term tourist visas are only valid for 30 days or long-term tourist visas are only valid for 90 days. The issued tourist visa cannot be renewed or extended by immigration. If your visa runs out of time, you will have to exit the country and may re-enter on a new travel visa, if you meet the re-entry requirements.
What is the minimum length of time that my passport needs to be valid for entry into the UAE?
The UAE Immigration office requires all visitors to have a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. If your passport is valid for less than six months, you will need to renew it before you can apply for a visa and travel to the UAE.

TRANSPORTATION - AIRPORT CHECK-IN AT ADNEC
There is a convenient airport check-in facility within the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC).
As an international visitor for a conference at ADNEC, you can check your baggage in and let the Abu Dhabi Airport Check-In transport it to the airport for you. They also can provide secure storage for your luggage on your departure day, so you can freely enjoy the event.
The facility is open from 09:00 to 20:00 local time, seven days a week, allowing you to check in up to 24 hours before your flight.
For remote check-in at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC), a charge of AED 30 per adult and AED 20 per child applies.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Additional Health and Safety InformationThe UAE Ministry of Health has published a detailed document on how to bring medications and medical devices into the UAE – including a list of controlled medications. We encourage all travelers to check their medications against this list and to familiarize themselves with requirements for carrying any medications or medical devices into the UAE
Travelers are encouraged to:
- Pack their medications (including over-the-counter medicines) in carry-on luggage.
- Carry a valid prescription or note from the doctor for each medication.
- Follow the additional requirements for controlled substances.
- Keep the medication in its prescription bottle (with the traveler's name on it).
- Bring only what they need for the duration of their stay.
The medical station at the ICANN Health and Safety Center will be staffed by qualified paramedics who can prescribe standard medications (as appropriate, following a consultation).
